Goals and Characteristics

The Center for Hip and Knee Replacement at Columbia University announces a one-year non-accredited fellowship. The goal of this fellowship is to offer the Fellow a comprehensive education in the knowledge and skills requisite of a hip and knee surgeon. Arthroscopy and bioskills laboratories are available for surgical training, research, and anatomic dissections. Operative procedures include standard and minimally invasive total hip and knee arthroplasty. In addition, complex and revision procedures, the less often performed surgeries such as UKA, total hip resurfacing, and femoral head resurfacing hemiarthroplasty will be learned. The Fellow will supervise patient management in the Center for Hip and Knee Replacement and participate in resident and medical student teaching. The Fellow will be encouraged to participate in and originate research projects.

The applicant must have successfully completed an orthopaedic residency training program and must qualify for or have a New York State license.
