Dr. Macaulay joined Columbia Orthopaedics in 1999 and has been Director of the Center for Hip and Knee Replacement (CHKR) at Columbia since 2001. An alumnus of Columbia’s College of Physicians and Surgeons since 1992, Dr. Macaulay trained at The University of Pittsburgh. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and fellowship trained in both Hip and Knee Replacement.

Although active in medical student/resident teaching and research at an ivy league institution, Dr. Macaulay has a thriving regional, national and international practice solving the most vexing adult reconstructive problems. The author of dozens of scientific articles and book chapters, Dr. Macaulay is familiar with the latest minimally invasive, bone preserving and recuperation enhancing trends in hip and knee replacement surgery. Nonetheless, he remains conservative with his approach to the patient and uses surgery as the last resort.

The CHKR at NewYork Presbyterian Hospital at Columbia was honorably mentioned and Dr. Macaulay officially included in the list of New York's best Doctors in 2007 Click here to view the article.
